Women, men
and youth of our congregation participate in
this outreach ministry to the local
community in two principal ways.
Once a month,
we prepare sandwiches, ditty bags (useful
necessities), cookies and soup and take it
to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in downtown
Long Beach, California. Men’s clothing is
also collected and taken to St. Luke’s. Our
members assist St. Luke’s with their shower
program for homeless persons once a month
and serve the guests who come with food that
we have prepared, and give out clothing and
small necessities.

Parishioners
donate "shelf stable" foods which are stocked in
the St. Gregory's food pantry. This ministry serves
a number of individuals and families who
need food. The linked file contains
more information about this important outreach
program as well as a shopping list which details
the specific kinds and sizes of food that the
Food Bank distributes.
